October Swiss Rifle match results….

Saturday was this month’s Swiss Rifle competition at the Bucks County Fish & Game Association.

Again, I was shooting my 1942 Schmidt-Rubin K31. My rifle is as-issued with factory iron sights.

First stage of day was the Obligatorisch. The mandatory qualification course of fire. Twice this year, I have scored high enough to earn a qualification certificate. Today was my best showing to date on the Obligatorisch! A 76 out of a possible 85 points.

Next up was the Feldschiessen. Previously, I have scored high enough to warrant a medal. This time though, I fell one point shy of any reward. A 54 out of a possible 72 points.

Last match for day was the Einselwettschiessen. This is a tough course of fire as the scoring rings are very tight. I shanked two rounds out of the black which ended any chance of earning a medal. I turned in a miserable score of 66 out 100 points.
