I had the day off for a dental appointment in the morning. Done before noon, I thought I would hit the range for some rifle practice. I loaded my gear and headed off to Elk Neck State Forest range. When I got there, what did I see?
Yeah, I know I should have called ahead. So I headed to the office to find out why the rifle range is closed. The office is closed but a notice that the range would be closed for repairs was posted.
Also posted there was a notice of new range rules. This seals the deal for me never coming back here again. “All shooting to be done from the benches. No free standing or prone firing”. As a rifle competitor this eliminates all meaningful practice for me. I can’t wait to finish the application process for Southern Chester County Sportsmen’s and Farmer’s Association.
